Jesus is praying for you.
Why pray, it does not work anyway, If you are of the countless number of people who proclaim that prayer does not work, then for the first time, I have to agree with you. Prayer does not work; it does not work for the unbeliever, the skeptic, and the
doubter. In the book of James, it states that he who doubts is like a wave tossed by the wind. For let, not that man or woman suppose that they will receive anything from the Lord. They are double-minded, unstable in all their ways (James 1:1-5-8).
The
Dangers of unbelief:
1) Because of unbelief, Jesus did not do many miracles in His Country (Matt.13:54,58).
A) Because of unbelief the Disciples could not heal a Man with epilepsy
(Matt.17:14-21).
B) Because of unbelief the Israelites
could not enter into the promised land.
C) An unbelieving heart will cause Christians to depart from the living God (Heb.3:12).
The Dangers of Doubt:
2) Doubt will keep Christians from obeying the
commandments
of Jesus (Matt.14:25-33).
A) Doubt will hinder a believers prayer from being
Answered (Matt. 21:18-22).
B) Doubt will affect a Christians faith in God
(Mark. 11:20-24).
C) Doubt
will keep a believer from worshipping
God (Matt.28:17).
The power of prayer:
3) Prayer works for the Christian who believes in
The promises of God.A) Prayer works for the believer
who doses not,
lose heart, but continues to pray (Lk.18:1).
B) Prayer works for the Christian who judges
God faithful who had promised (Heb.11:11).
C) Prayer works for the Christian who
has faith
And patience and trust in God (Heb.6:12).
Prayer changes situations:
4) When Abraham prayed God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants. Then they were able to bore children (Gen.20:17).
A) When Jesus Disciple prayed the house were they assembled was shaken, and the Disciples were all filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts.4:31).
B) When Peter prayed, she, who had died, opened
her eyes and set up.
(Acts 9:40-43).
C) While in prison Paul and Silas prayed, and suddenly all the cell doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed (Act.16:1-40).
Prayer works for believers:
5) Jesus said if you
can but believe, all things are possible to those who believe
(Mark.9:23).
A) If you have faith as a mustard seed,
B) you can say to this tree, be moved,
C) and it will obey you.
These
signs will follow those who believe:
6) Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creator.
A) In the name of Jesus, they will cast out demons
B) They will speak with new tongues;
C) They will lay hands on the sick, and “they
will recover” (Mark 16:15-20).
