THE VALUE OF A DAY

THE GLORY OF DAY.

A beautiful sunrise always charms and thrills the soul. But the real glory of a beautiful sunrise is not in its beauty, but in the fact that it is the prophecy and token of a new day. Every morning, God says to us; “Here is a new day, take it and make the most of it.” Out of the hands of the infinite God, there is handed over a priceless gift, which man has no right to claim, and which he himself is powerless to produce.
Each day is a new opportunity, a new beginning. Yesterday, we made mistakes---today we have a chance to redeem ourselves. Yesterday, through careless word or action, we sorely wounded the heart of a friend or loved one---today God gives us the opportunity to apply the healing balm to that wound. Yesterday, we compromised, besmirched our souls, dragged our most cherished ideals in the dust---today is ours to stand erect again and seek to cleanse our souls and regain our lost ideals. Yesterday, we failed, miserably failed, and were forced from the field in utter defeat---but today, we may go forth to battle again, and to win. And so a day, seemingly so small a part of life, is one of God’s choicest and most valuable gifts to man. Amen.

THE FOURTH PERSON IN THE GARDEN

Obeying God in the beginning was easy for Adam; it was only him and God. There were no outside influences even after Eve was created because God’s created beings were in harmony with God’s will. Adam obeyed God, and Eve obeyed Adam. God stepped back, looked at everything He had created and said, It is very good (Gen.1:31).

Then entered Satan: Satan was the forth person in the garden. What made Satan so dangerous to God’s new created family? It was his power to sway; it was his power to affect other peoples thinking or actions by means of arguments or reasoning.

Satan was and still is a rebel toward God. Satan is one who defies God’s authority. His goal is to overthrow God’s government. Satan’s fight is not with you but with God, by hurting you Satan hurts God (Rev.12:17).

Satan’s Attack: Satan did not attack Eve physically, or with weapons. He attacked Eve with words, God’s words. Satan said to Eve, Did God really say?

The challenge: With four little word’s Satan convinced Eve to challenge God in three areas.
(1)God’s Authority, has God indeed said?
(2) God’s judgment, you will not die.
(3) God’s goodness, desiring what’s forbidden

Satan’s reasoning: If man disobeys God and sins, God will have to destroy him (Rom.6:23).

Satan’s Surprise:
Sin is Sin; Man should have been destroyed in the Garden of Eden. Satan never dreamed or considered God’s grace (Rom.5:1-21). Because God is a merciful God, He covered Adam and Eve’s sin (Gen.3:21) (Rom.4:7-8).Then God sent His only begotten son into the world to cover our sins (John 3:16), But you have to confess Him as your savoir (Rom 10:8-15).

DAD! WHY THE CROSS?

Dad, why did Jesus have to die on a wooden cross even through He committed no sin? My son, listen to me,

Jesus died on a wooden cross for two reasons. First, Jesus was chosen by God as His sacrificial lamb slain from the foundation of the world, (Read Rev.13:8). John the baptism described Jesus as such; Behold! The lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (Read Jn.1:29). Crucifixion is a death sentence, a nailing of the hands and feet to a wooden cross and left to hang there until death by exhaustion or asphyxiation. Secondly, the apostle Paul writes declaring that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures
(Read 1-Cor.15:3-4).

The prophet Isaiah writes a report telling us the things Jesus must suffer before and during His crucifixion.
Isaiah writes, Jesus is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrow and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him. Jesus was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surly He has born our grief’s and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed, (Read Isaiah 53:3-5).

The prophet Isaiah also writes, all we, (including us), like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him (Jesus) the inequity of us all. He, (Jesus) was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet “He opened not His mouth; Jesus was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so Jesus opened not His mouth. He (Jesus), was taken from prison and from judgment and who will declare His generation? For Jesus was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked-but with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was deceit in His mouth (Read Isaiah 53:6-9).

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When you make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall proper in His hand.
Jesus shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many. For Jesus shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong. Because He poured out His soul until death, and Jesus was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors
(Read Isaiah 53:10-12).
