Hear our pleas Father

Father, We seek your presence that we may be made aware of power beyond ourselves. Forgive us when we forget that your ability is always available as we struggle in our daily walk with thee.

Lord, we seek your presence because we need a strong shield against temptation. We are tempted daily by the devices of the world.Keep us we pray from compromising your truths or engaging in activities that are displeasing to you.

We need your presence, Lord, that we might find the ability and desire to be taught what is Godlike and right. We seek your word so that we might understand what is holy and sacred and eternal.

Father, we need your presence so that we might have a love for your word with all its power and insight and guidance.

Lord, we need your guidance that we may be an example to others as we walk in the community; as we show loyalty to your kingdom and serve you with
Humility. Walk with us, Lord, as we care for your creation, we pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

May God bless your special Day.

The Shoe Box Program >>>>>>>>

The shoebox program has begun at the Voice of the Gospel Mission Church. Our goal for this year is to collect twenty or more shoeboxes packed with Christmas, Goodies. The church will donate the shoeboxes to Samaritan Purse, who will distribute them to boys and girls around the world who otherwise would not have any gifts for Christmas.

The shoebox program is about more than a gift; It is about sharing the Love of Christ with young boys and girls who otherwise might not know Him,

As Christians, we are God’s stewards over His earthly children. James, the brother of Jesus, said pure and undefiled religion before God, and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble and to keep oneself unspotted from the world
James 1:27).

Today, won’t you help God touch the hearts of His children by donating to a worthy cause? Jesus said, since you provided a gift for one of the least of these children, you have provided it for Me (Matt.31-40).

If you would like to participate in the shoebox program, you may do so by donating any amount to:

The Voice of the Gospel Mission Church

Please write “shoebox Donation” on your check,
And may God bless you for your generosity (Mal.3:10).

I remember when I was teaching one of my daughters how to ride her bicycle without the safety of the training wheels, so, as a loving dad, we removed the training wheels from her bike.

As I ran behind my daughter, holding onto the bicycle seat, suddenly my daughter began to cry out, let go, daddy, let go. As her dad, I could not help but notice all the dangerous obstacles where she could be easily injured if she fell.

And such is the case with God, although He knows all the dangers lurking about in the world,
However, He does not put his children in a bubble
To protect them or keep them pure for to do so would be depriving them of experiencing the joys of life. Sometimes with love comes heartaches;
And sometimes, with relationships comes pain and suffering. If God protected His children from these things, then His children would not grow into mature adults. Think about it we learn obedience by the things which we suffer (Heb.5:8).

God sometimes allows suffering in our lives to fulfill His will, sometimes it's for our good, and other times it is to correct us, Please Read (Pro.3:11-12), as well as (Heb.12:6-13).

For whatever reason, God allows suffering
Please remember this promise God works all things together for good to those who love God, Please read (Rom.8:28).

Why am I sick & suffering.

Like Job’s three friends, most people believe that a sinner is someone who has committed some horrific sin, and this is why they are sick or suffering or dying. But this doctrine is not always true. Such was the case with the blind man.

During Jesus’ ministry, He encounters a man that was born blind, and when Jesus’ Disciples saw the blind man they wondered why he was born blind. So, they ask Jesus a question saying, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus said to them, Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him (Jn.9:1-3).

Sometimes people get sick and suffer to bring glory to God. Such was the case with Lazarus, one of Jesus’ friends. Because Lazarus was so sick his sisters Mary, and Martha sent word to Jesus informing Him that Lazarus His friend was sick and dying. When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick He said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.

When Jesus arrived at Mary and Martha’s home, Lazarus had already been dead for four days. So, Jesus, with Lazarus,’ sister went to the tomb and looking into it, Jesus said with a loud voice, Lazarus come forth. And Lazarus, who had been dead, came out of the cave alive, (Jn.11:57).
If you are sick or suffering like the blind man or Lazarus, or even like Job, then remember the words Jesus spoke to Martha, Lazarus; sister. Jesus said to Martha, as well as to you if you believe you will see the glory of God, (Jn.11:40).

When we pray.

When we pray to our Heavenly Father, we do not expect Him to intervene in our lives because we say so, but rather, we pray because God promised that He would intervene and help us in times of trouble when we cry out to Him in prayer, read (Psalm 50:15), as well as (Psalm 34:17). Such was the case with Peter, one of Jesus’ Disciples, who spent his days preaching the Gospel, of Christ, to everyone who would listen to him.

If you would like to follow the time line for our story, open your Bible to (Acts 12:1-25).

Now because of the Jews, King Herod harassed some in the Church, killed James, the brother of John, with a sword, and had Peter put in prison,
Read (Acts.12:1-3). Now Peter was delivered to four squads of soldiers to keep him from escaping the kings hands, read (Acts 12:1:4).

But constant prayer was offered to God for Peter by the Church (Acts. 12:5).

Now King Herod, in his effort to keep Peter from escaping, used these two extreme measures, which we should note:

1) Peter was bound with chains between two soldiers.
2) and the soldiers were keeping watch over the door to Peter’s cell, Read (Acts. 12:6).

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord stood by Peter, and a light shone through the prison. Then the angel struck Peter on the side, for he was sleeping. Then the angel said to Peter, arise quickly! And his chains fell off his hands (Acts.12:7).

The angel said to Peter, put on your cloths and shoes and follow me. Now Peter followed the angel, not knowing if what he was seeing was real or a vision. After the angel walked Peter through the second guard's post, a gate leading to the city open by itself, then the angel departed from Peter. While Peter thought about what had happened, he realized That God had sent His angel and delivered him from the hand of Herod and from the Jewish people who wanted to take his life, read (Acts 12:8-11).

Peter walked to the house where many were praying for Peter, as he knocked on the door a girl named Rhoda answered the door and when she recognized Peter’s voice she did not open the door but ran shouted that Peter was standing at the gate. But the men said to the girl you, are beside yourself! And when she said, no,’ its Peter, they said, it is his angel. Now Peter continued to knock, and when the men opened the door and saw Peter standing there, they were astonished, read (Acts. 12:12-19). Christians should pray by these three rules after reading this true story.

1) pray without ceasing
2) Pray, believing God is faithful to His word.
3) Pray, believing with God nothing is impossible.

Enter by the narrow gate

(V-13) In Jesus’ famous sermon on the mount He spoke to the multitudes about two gates, one gate was narrow, and the other gate was wide. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many go in by it. (V-14) Jesus goes on to say to the people who were listing, Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. After God had raised Jesus from the dead Jesus said to His Disciples, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned (Mark 16:15-16).

Jesus uses the two gates as a metaphor, the wide gate represents hell, and anyone’s name not found written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire burning with brimstone (Rev.20:11-15). In the book of Luke, Jesus paints a picture of hell and what it will look like and feel like, to those who were Condemned.

Jesus draws a picture of two men, one was rich, and the other man was poor. Jesus goes on to say that the beggar died and was carried to heaven by the angels.
The rich man also died and was buried (Lk.16:22).
Jesus continues His story saying even though the rich man had died he was still experiencing his physical senses. The rich man saw Lazarus as he moved about in heaven, and being in tormented he felt physical pain even though he was in the grave. The rich man although dead was aware that he was in hell because the flames were tormenting him. (Lk.16:23-24).
Jesus said, although the rich man died he remembered his father’s house and his five brothers who also live there in the dwelling (Lk.16:25-26).

The power of faith

Faith is so powerful that Jesus describes the things faith can move out of the life of a Christian.

(1) Jesus said if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you (Mat.17:20).

A) In (Matt.9:20-22) Jesus said faith had the power to heal a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years.
B) In (Mark 5:34) Jesus said, Daughter, your faith has made you well, go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.
C) In (Mark 10:46-52) This same faith that healed so many still had the power and ability to restore sight to a blind man. Jesus said to the blind man, D) Go your way; your faith has made you well. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus.

In (Acts 3:1-16), Peter had just healed a man who had been lame from birth. And Peter perceived that the crowds assumed he had made this man walk said, O’ No’ I did not heal this man. Peter said the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers glorified His Servant Jesus, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses, and His name, through faith in His name made this man strong, yes, the faith which comes through Jesus has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Jesus said, if you have faith and do not doubt, whatever things you ask in prayer, you will receive them, do you believe this? If not, pray and ask God to give you a believing spirit (Matt.21:17-22).
