Let us pray

Let us pray

Father,

We seek your presence that we may be made aware of power beyond ourselves. Forgive us when we forget that your ability is always available as we struggle in our daily walk with thee. Lord, we seek your presence because we need a strong shield against temptation.

We are tempted daily by the devices of the world. Keep us we pray from compromising your truths or engaging in activities that are displeasing to you.We need your presence, Lord, that we might find the ability and desire to be taught what is Godlike and right.

We seek your word so that we might understand what is holy and sacred and eternal. Father, we need your presence so that we might have a love for your word with all its power and insight and guidance.

Lord, we need your guidance that we may be an example to others as we walk in the community; as we show loyalty to your kingdom and serve you with Humility. Walk with us, Lord, as we care for your creation, we pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

The Shoebox Program >>>>>>>>

The shoebox program was a big success.

The church collected 30 shoeboxes packed with Christmas Goodies.

The church will donate the shoeboxes to Samaritan Purse, and they will distribute them to boys and girls around the world who otherwise would not have any gifts for Christmas.

A big shot out to everyone who helped make this year's shoebox program a big success.

A NEW CREATION

The apostle Paul said, if anyone is in Christ he or she is a new creation, (2-Cor.5:17). Paul says we are made a new creation by the renewing of our minds,(Eph.4:23), (Rom.12:2).

Our old way of thinking is corrupt, its

Carnal, it’s fleshly, (1-Cor.3:3). Our old way of thinking is controlled by our own fleshly desires,( Eph.2:3).

Renew our mind

Paul the apostle says as Christians we are to be renewed in the spirit of our minds. We are no longer to think with a carnal mind, but with a spiritual mind (Rom.8:6). We are to walk in the newness of life (Rom.6:4). Paul reminds us that Christ died for the ungodly (Rom.5:6-8). And If Christ died for all, then all died (2-Cor.5:14).

crucified with Christ,

Our old man and our life were crucified with Christ, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin (Rom.6:1-23), Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity (2-Tim.2:19).

How can we live for Christ?
Paul says be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.

Read The Bible:
Read the bible: pay attention to exhortations. Continue in the doctrine of Christ (1-Tim.4:11-16). Meditate on the scripture, and pray to God for understanding.

Seek first the kingdom of God

Jesus said, if you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.

The Pastor wants you to note
that Jesus is not speaking about keeping the Ten Commandments because God gave

Moses the Ten Commandments and not Jesus (Please read Ex.34:1,27,28).
The Pastor said, Jesus is speaking about the new commandment He gave to all believers saying, a new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another;
(Read Jn.13:34).

Sometimes an unbeliever will ask a Christian a question testing them such, was the case with Jesus. A lawyer asked Jesus a question saying, teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus answered by saying, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul, and with all your mind, this is the first and great commandment, and the second like it is you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets,
(Read Matt.22:33-40).

Jesus tells those who believe in Christ that their first mission is to seek the kingdom of God. There will be some amongst you that will say, how do you seek the kingdom of God? One of the Scribes answers this question for us, saying there is one God, and there is no other but He. And to love the Lord with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength , and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
