A prayer for our School children

Heavenly Father,

As our children return to School: we pray, put your hedge of protection around them, their friends, their School, their teachers, and their bus drivers. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pointing fingers.

As long as man has someone else to blame for worldly problems, they will never see the real culprit, which is sin, man’s sin.

Read (Jeremiah 17;9-10), and see what God says about your heart. Also, read (2-Cor.13:5-14).

The shoebox program

The shoebox program has begun at the Voice Of The Gospel Mission Church. Our goal this year is to fill twenty shoeboxes with Gifts that the church will donate to Samaritan Purse, who will distribute the shoeboxes to boys and girls all around the world who otherwise would not have anything for Christmas.

The shoebox program is about more than just giving someone a gift. It's about sharing the love of Christ with a child. As well as bringing hope to a family where hope may no longer exist. Christmas is a time when we tell others about Jesus, His love, His mercy, and His compassion for which He loved us.

As Christians, we are stewards and overseers over the children of God. James confirms such when he writes saying, pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble and to keep oneself unspotted from the world as told in (James 1, verse 27).

This Christmas, we pray you will find it in your heart to help our Sunday School children surpass their shoebox goal by donating to a worthy cause, such as Samaritan Purse. If you would like to participate in the shoebox program, you may do so in one of two ways:

1) phone (845) 344-1982, request a

The power of Faith

THE POWER OF FAITH
Lesson 1

Scripture: (Matthew 17:14-21), (James 1:5-8).

Jesus, during His earthly ministry, often spoke to His Disciples about the power of faith, saying, if you have faith as a muster seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move, as told in (Matthew, 17, verse 14, thru 21).

In lesson one, we will discuss three topics.

A) How to have the mind of a believer
B) How to come expecting a miracle
C) How to know God is faithful to His written word

As we study the words and thoughts of the Centurion: we too can develop the mindset of a believer, who, like the Centurion, will also exhibit great faith. The Centurion recognized the true deity of Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

Open your Bible to
(Matthew 8, verses 5 thru 10) And let’s read how the Centurion described Who he believed Jesus to be.

(V-5) Now, when Jesus had entered (Ca-per’na-um), a Centurion
came to Him, pleading with Him,
(V-6) saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed,
Dreadfully tormented.”

(V-7) Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
(V-8) The Centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy
That you should come under my roof. But only speak a
word, and my servant will recover from his illness.
(V-9) For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers
beneath and I say to the one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to
another, ‘Come.’ and he comes; and to my servant, ’Do
this, and he does it.
(V-10) When Jesus heard it, He marveled and said, to those who
Followed. Assuredly, I say to you I have not found such
great faith, not even in Israel.

As we carefully study the conversation the Centurion was having with Jesus; we will learn that: although the Centurion felt unworthy to stand in the presence of Jesus, he did not lose his faith in Jesus, who has the power to heal his servant, for he said to Jesus. Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be made well.

Like the Centurion, at times, Christians may also feel unworthy
To stand before God, but the good news is when we do feel
unworthy, the apostle Paul reminds us that it is God, who is able, to make us worthy, as told in (Romans 14, verse 4).

When I think of the centurions faith in, Jesus, it reminds me of The question Jesus asked His Disciples saying, who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?

Open your Bible to
(Matt.16, verses,13 thru19)
And let’s read the Disciples answers.

(V-14) So His Disciples said, some say John the Baptist, some
Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.
(V-15) Then Jesus said to them, But who do you say I am?
(V-16) Simon Peter answered and said, you are the Christ, the
Son of the living God.
(V-17) Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you Simon
Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to
You, but My Father who is in heaven.
(V-18) And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I
will build My church, and Hades shall not prevail against
it.
(V-19) And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and
Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and
Whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Today, I will ask you the same question Jesus asked, His, Disciples saying who do you say that I, the Son of Man, am? Your answer will determine your walk with the Lord. Jesus said, if you love Me keep My commandments, And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. The spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it nether sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

Join us in the October Newsletter as the Pastor discusses: How to come expecting a miracle.
